Welcome to our series of guest blogs from key flexo industry players. In this edition, I&C-GAMA Group discusses their role as a Gold Sponsor for the Diamond Awards, their innovative and sustainable use of new technologies and the bright future of flexo.

I&C-GAMA Group was honoured to participate as Gold Sponsor in the biggest Flexo event of the year “FTA Europe Diamond Awards 2021”, which this year took place in streaming due to the pandemic.

Our office is deeply involved in the organization of the event, since we firmly believe in the importance of valuing the work of printers, in order to stimulate them into giving their best. Moreover, it represents a great challenge for us too, since we have always been thinking that networking is the most important asset for developing a successful business, and it is an opportunity to keep up with the latest innovations of the sector and of our market.

One of the results of the Covid pandemic is the growing awareness in the world towards themes such as sustainability and environment. As a company involved in the packaging industry, already since a few years we have developed products that require less production material (aluminium and steel) to lower the environmental impact, and we reduced the amount of components, so there is less replacement of spare parts; thanks to a sophisticated software we also use less electricity.

All our control systems include the industry 4.0 feature: they gather and connect all the machines’ data in real time so they can be managed in the company to raise the efficiency levels.

Since we took our first steps, our mission has always been to offer the most innovative technologies to our customers: we can now provide a wide range of products addressing the needs of different players of the printing industry, to improve the quality and reduce the printing costs.

Startup costs of a flexo printing machine are lower compared to other printing technologies, so many brands choose packaging printed by flexo. Flexibility in printing has always been one of the benefits of flexo: a trend that came up even more during the pandemic, when the brand owners have printed less, but more frequently.

After the pandemic, we are confident flexo printing will be used more and more and our vision for the future is that flexo will develop a mixed technology: a flexo printing machine with one gravure element and a flexo printing machine with a digital head to print variable data for a more unique and personalized packaging.
