The lights having dimmed on the European stage of the FTA Europe Diamond Awards, the spotlights light up on the second edition of Bestinflexo, the award for flexographic print quality conceived and promoted by ATIF, the Italian Technical Association for Flexography, and addressed to Italian printers and converters.

This year’s new feature is represented by the reformulation and expansion of the categories provided for: two have been renamed to align them with the international categories (Corrugated Post Print Coated and Corrugated Post Print Uncoated), even if in substance they do not differ from the previous ones; instead, the following categories have been added: “Flexo Print on Paper – Super Wide Web” (large size print on paper/pasteboard to apply on corrugated paperboard), “Use of Flexo in a Combination Print” and “Best Creative Use of Flexo.”

Moreover, provided for this year in the Italian edition as well – as is already the case with numerous national awards of other European countries – is the awarding of a prize for the Best in Show, which is to say the absolutely best work, regardless of the category in which it has been entered.

The support has been reconfirmed by Assografici (The Italian Printing and Paper Converting Industries Association) and by some of its principal Special Interest Groups (corrugated board, flexible packaging, self-adhesive labels and shopping bags manufacturers) that make use of this printing process, as well as the support of other supply-chain Associations and of the leading names of the graphic arts and paper processing industry involved in the Media Partner quality project.

This year once again the Jury will be chaired by Emilio Gerboni (ATIF), who will judge the entries together with Stefano d’Andrea (ATIF), Mario Maggioni (ICR), Angelo Mazzacani (Selection) and Claudio Rimondi (Coop).
Fujifilm, I&C, Kodak, Lohmann, Sun Chemical and Uteco have already formalized their support for the award.

For each category the three best entries will be selected, which thus will obtain a “nomination” The winners of each category will be made official and awarded a prize on the occasion of a special evening event scheduled on 22nd November in Bologna, the day before Flexo Day 2016.
